Deshaun Watson: The Controversial Talent

Alright, let’s dive into Deshaun Watson. I was chatting with my cousin Mark about Watson the other day, and we had a lot to say. No doubt, Watson’s talent is off the charts—he’s got an arm that can make any throw and the kind of mobility that lets him escape pressure and create plays. His 2020 season with the Houston Texans was stellar; he threw for over 4,800 yards and 33 touchdowns, and his ability to perform in tough situations was evident. Watson’s play style is all about making big plays and improvising. He’s got this incredible knack for extending plays and finding his receivers downfield. His performance in that game against the Tennessee Titans, where he threw for 335 yards and 4 touchdowns, was just electric. You can see why he’s been so highly regarded when he’s on the field. But, and this is a big but, there’s a lot of controversy around him. The off-field issues and legal troubles have overshadowed his career and cast a huge cloud over his potential. It’s tough to separat...

Joe Burrow: The Mixed Bag

Okay, maybe I'm addicted to hot takes :) Let’s talk about Joe Burrow. He’s been getting a lot of hype since he came into the NFL, and while he’s got some solid skills, his performance has been a bit of a mixed bag. Burrow’s got that classic QB look—great arm strength and a knack for making some impressive throws. He showed flashes of brilliance in his rookie season with the Cincinnati Bengals and led them to the Super Bowl in 2021, which is no small feat. His 2022 season saw him throw for over 4,400 yards and 35 touchdowns, showing he can put up numbers. But here’s the thing: Burrow’s been inconsistent, and there have been some glaring issues. His tendency to hold onto the ball too long and take unnecessary sacks has been a problem. The Bengals’ offensive line issues haven’t helped, but Burrow’s decision-making and accuracy have also been points of concern. There’ve been games where he’s struggled to find rhythm, and his performance in key moments hasn’t always been up to par. S...

Carson Wentz: The Unfulfilled Promise

It's not all 5-stars on BQQBs! we have some underwhelimg guys too :) Case in point: Carson Wentz. He entered the NFL with a ton of hype and high expectations, especially after being drafted second overall by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2016. There was a lot of talk about how he was going to be a game-changer and a franchise quarterback. And to be fair, his rookie season did show promise—he threw for over 3,700 yards and 16 touchdowns, leading the Eagles to a respectable 7-9 record. But as the seasons went on, Wentz’s performance became a rollercoaster of highs and lows that left many scratching their heads. One of the biggest criticisms of Wentz is his inconsistency. He’s had seasons where he looked like a potential superstar, only to follow them up with frustratingly average or even poor performances. The 2017 season was a high point; he was playing at an MVP-caliber level before a knee injury cut his season short. The Eagles went on to win the Super Bowl that year, but Wentz was...
