Russell Wilson: The Underdog Who Made It Big
Sorry it's been a minute since I've posted — got busy with the holidays and then worked had me slammed! But now I can get back to my passion, reviewing Quarterbacks! Onto another great: Russell Wilson.
He's one of those quarterbacks who just makes you root for him, no matter who you’re cheering for. This guy’s journey is the definition of the underdog story. Drafted in the third round in 2012, Wilson quickly made a name for himself with the Seattle Seahawks. He’s got this knack for extending plays and making something out of nothing. The 2014 season was a prime example. Wilson took the Seahawks to Super Bowl XLVIII, where they dominated the Denver Broncos 43-8. He was on fire, throwing for 206 yards and 2 touchdowns, and his performance was just electric. You couldn’t help but be impressed.
Then there’s his ability to scramble. Seriously, his legs are like rocket boosters. Watching him run around, evade defenders, and then make a perfect throw is always exciting. Remember that incredible play against the Green Bay Packers in the 2014 NFC Championship? The “Fail Mary” play where he threw a game-winning touchdown to Kearse? Classic Russell Wilson.
But it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. Some critics argue that his play can be a bit too reliant on improvisation. There were times when his aggressive style led to turnovers or left fans holding their breath. And while he’s had amazing seasons, he’s also had his share of ups and downs, especially when it comes to consistency.
Even with the criticism, Russell Wilson’s impact is undeniable. He’s brought a lot of joy to fans with his never-give-up attitude and spectacular plays. Whether he's leading his team to victory or pulling off jaw-dropping moves, Wilson is one quarterback who’s definitely made his mark on the game.
Quarterback Quality Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
